Treatments
4. Sacroiliac Joint Injections
Objective: Relief of joint pain via anti-inflammatory steroid medication and local anesthetic. Indicated for: Arthritis, injury, or strain of the sacroiliac joint or other joints.
Treatment: For both diagnosis and treatment, we inject anti-inflammatory steroid mediation and local anesthetic into the sacroiliac or other joint, usually using a flouroscope for guidance, and sometimes contrast dye to confirm the position. We may also deliver local injections into the ligaments. Time: 10-20 minutes. Efficacy: The injections may provide pain relief lasting from one week to years. In some cases, they offer permanent relief.
Post-Treatment: We’ll monitor you in the Center for a short period of time after treatment. Most patients are able to walk immediately after the procedure, though they should take it easy for the rest of the day.
